History
Annina’s Bakeshop & Café located in Goodwood Ontario was opened in 2007, while branching off of it Mother company in stouffville. Annina’s was opened as a family concept café and has now become a gem in the rough as people drive to the little nestle location to enjoy fresh homemade desserts and meals, created by the Annina’s family. Leading them into their daily adventures is Chef Marco Cassano, who is the inspiration and motivation behind the Annina’s family.
Together the Annina’s teams make an assortment for fresh baked treats and dessert, as well as country style breakfasts and filling and tasty lunches. In 2015 Annina’s launched their Food truck into the streets of Toronto being Called Temptations for the simple fact once you try the food and desserts you will always be tempted to go back again.
Between The bakeshop and café, and temptation Annina’s also offers full event coordinating and catering up to 800 people. This little café how’s now become a destination spot for those both close and far, and a crowd tease at local fairs, and food truck events. As well as private and corporate functions.
Chef Marco Cassano
Chef Marco was born into the Hospitality industry at the early age of 4 where he began to watch and learn the basic of food. Watching his parents at their bakery In Stouffville or being on the family farm helping grow vegetables, and raising animals.
By the age of 12 he was cooking full meals and great ones at that with his palette for taste, he then began working at the age of 14 at different restaurants and family bakeshop while still attending school. He fallowed his passion and went on to furthered his Knowledge at George brown college, once completed him and his cousin took over another family business known as Amaretto Restaurant where they change the concept of the restaurant and became busier than ever while still having the original bakery In stouffville, The families bought the location In Goodwood and ran both for a while.
While life changes happened the stouffville location was sold off and Marco became the Sous chef of Angus Glen golf club, with in a year he purchase the Goodwood bakeshop, and started making it what it is today while teaching culinary arts at Fleming and Durham College. He has now let go of the teaching but still teaches on a daily basis to his family at Annina’s.
From appetizer, main course, dessert and specializing in cakes- everything is done in house with all organic, high quality and fresh ingredients all the way to organic spices. Marco Cassano offers a unique service that’s dedicated to fulfilling its customer’s wishes right down to the shape, size and flavor of cake.
